Fire Door and Accessories
Fire Door
A fire door is a door with a fire-resistance rating (sometimes referred to as a fire protection rating for closures) used as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire or smoke between compartments and to enable safe egress from a building or structure
Fire Exit Sign
Fire Exit Signs are a critical part of an Emergency Exit strategy and proper signage is mandated for all fire exits and fire doors. An effective Fire Exit Safety Plan is much more than posting a few fire exit signs. Fire Regulations dictate that fire exits are clearly marked and may be seen even in the event of power loss. Photo luminescent Exit Signs direct people safely when lighting is compromised and time is critical.
Emergency Light
An emergency light is a battery-backed lighting device that switches on automatically when a building experiences a power outage. Emergency lights are standard in new commercial and high occupancy residential buildings, such as college dormitories, apartments, and hotels. Most building codes require that they be installed in older buildings as well.
Incandescent light bulbs were originally used in emergency lights, before fluorescent lights and later light-emitting diodes (LEDs) superseded them in the 21st century.
Fire Extinguisher
A fire extinguisher, or extinguisher, is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control fires, often in emergency situations. It is not intended for use on an out-of-control fire. A fire extinguisher consists of a hand-held cylindrical pressure vessel containing an agent, which can be discharged to extinguish a fire. A Fire extinguisher is required being serviced and inspected by a Fire Protection service company at least annually. The service places a tag on the extinguisher to indicate the type of service performed (annual inspection, recharge, new fire extinguisher).
